Azerbaijan, China sign deal to boost green energy corridor development
The State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under Azerbaijan’s Energy Ministry and China Datang Overseas Investment Co. Ltd have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop a green energy corridor.
The agreement aims to facilitate the safe integration of renewable energy sources into Azerbaijan’s power grid and ensure the reliable transmission of electricity, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
As part of the cooperation, the Chinese firm will contribute its technical expertise and conduct system research to enhance the grid infrastructure. The MoU also includes provisions for technical and financial support to attract Chinese companies experienced in designing, engineering, and managing High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) projects.
The deal marks a step forward in Azerbaijan’s plans to expand its renewable energy capacity and strengthen international partnerships in the energy sector.
