Azerbaijan-Moldova Commission to meet in Chisinau in December

The next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Moldova will be held in Chisinau in December 2026, Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov said at an event in Baku marking the 35th anniversary of Moldova’s Independence Day.

Mammadov said the joint intergovernmental commission plays a key role in advancing economic and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries and supports the effective implementation of joint initiatives in these areas, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

He noted that six meetings of the commission have been held so far, with the latest taking place in Baku in 2025.

“The upcoming seventh meeting is scheduled to be held in Chisinau in December this year. Regularly convening the commission’s meetings, focusing on results, and ensuring the prompt and effective implementation of joint measures will contribute to the further development of our relations,” Mammadov underlined.

Alongside preparations for the next commission meeting, Azerbaijan and Moldova are also working to expand the legal framework underpinning bilateral cooperation.

Mammadov said the two countries are currently considering 12 draft bilateral documents, the signing of which would create additional opportunities for cooperation.

He stressed the importance of further expanding the legal and contractual framework between Azerbaijan and Moldova and signing documents that are important for the future development of bilateral relations.

According to the minister, 68 documents have so far been signed between the two countries within the existing legal and contractual framework.

“Currently, the sides are considering 12 draft documents. The prompt signing of these documents will open new horizons for further deepening cooperation between our countries,” Mammadov noted.
