Azerbaijan resumes urea exports to France for first time in 16 years

Azerbaijan has resumed urea exports to France for the first time in 16 years, with exports amounting to $5.7 million, according to the State Statistics Committee.

The committee figures indicated that, in total, Azerbaijan exported 213,109 tonnes of urea worth $88.2 million in January-July this year, Caliber.Az reports.

Calculations represent a 12% decrease in value and a 37% decline in volume compared with the same period last year.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 109,911 tonnes of urea to Ukraine (-58%) worth $42.1 million (-44%); 30,949 tonnes to South Africa worth $14.4 million, with no exports recorded to the country a year earlier; 14,244 tonnes to India worth $9 million, also with no exports recorded a year earlier; 19,062 tonnes to France worth $5.7 million; and 14,485 tonnes to Romania (+2.9 times) worth $5 million (+3.7 times).

In 2025, Ukraine accounted for 72.4% of the 543,532 tonnes of urea exported by Azerbaijan.
