Azerbaijan cuts chemical exports by more than half
In January–February 2026, Azerbaijan exported 88,885.37 tonnes of chemical products, 2.2 times less than the same period in 2025, according to the State Customs Committee, Caliber.Az reports.
The value of exported products fell 1.8 times to $34.29 million, with chemical exports accounting for 0.94% of Azerbaijan’s total exports (compared with 1.32% in January–February 2025).
Nitrogen fertiliser exports made up 68,763.45 tonnes, a 1.8-fold decline, worth $21.87 million (down 39.3%). Their share in total exports dropped to 0.6% from 0.76% a year earlier.
According to the State Statistics Committee, Azerbaijan produced chemical industry goods worth 184.7 million manats during the first two months of 2026, down 22.8% compared to the same period in 2025.
