Azerbaijan destroys Russian food shipment contaminated with harmful bacteria Photo

The Azerbaijani Food Safety Agency has detected pathogenic bacteria in a batch of onion rings imported from Russia, prompting immediate action to safeguard consumers.

The contaminated shipment, weighing 639 kilograms, was produced by Russian Miratorg-West company and brought into Azerbaijan by the importer Mirtorg, Caliber.Az reports via local media. 

The bacteria were identified through laboratory tests conducted during routine inspections of imported food products. Azerbaijani authorities have decided to destroy the entire batch in line with the country’s strict food safety regulations to prevent any potential health risks to the public.
