Azerbaijan ombudsman officials meet repatriated citizens from Syria
Officials from the Office of the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan held a meeting with Azerbaijani citizens repatriated from Syria to assess the protection of their rights.
According to the Ombudsman’s Office, the meeting involved one woman and three children, currently accommodated in a social facility under the State Social Services Agency.
During the discussion, officials examined the situation regarding the rights and social support available to repatriated individuals. Management and staff of the facility briefed the Ombudsman representatives on the services provided to support their reintegration.
The meeting highlighted challenges faced by the family, including difficulties in obtaining identity documents for the children, ensuring access to education, and resuming the woman’s educational process.
Repatriated citizens received guidance on safeguarding their rights and advice on integrating into Azerbaijani society.
