Azerbaijan sees sharp drop in gas meter imports in early 2026
In January–March of this year, Azerbaijan imported 311 gas meters worth $231,400, marking an 82% decline in value and a 98% decrease in quantity compared to the same period in 2025.
According to the State Statistics Committee, during the reporting period Azerbaijan purchased 17 units from Germany (-83%) worth $121,500, a sixfold increase compared to a year earlier, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Imports from Poland totaled 103 units worth $65,000, with no deliveries recorded in the previous year. From Italy, Azerbaijan imported 45 units (-75%) worth $23,200 (-86%).
Following a break of one year and eight months, Azerbaijan also resumed imports of gas meters from the Netherlands, receiving 20 units valued at $16,440.
In 2025, China accounted for 92.5% of the 28,736 gas meters imported into Azerbaijan, underscoring its dominant share in the country’s supply structure.
