Azerbaijan to host Cultural Forum of Turkic World in 2026
The next Turkic World Cultural Forum will be held in Azerbaijan with organisational support from TURKSOY, TURKSOY Secretary-General Sultan Raev told APA.
The forum is scheduled to take place in April 2026.
The potential host cities under consideration are Sheki and Nakhchivan.
“Azerbaijan is one of the leading countries in TURKSOY. We plan to implement many projects in Azerbaijan. As part of the Turkic World Cultural Forum, scheduled for April 2026, interesting initiatives such as screenings of animated films are planned,” Sultan Raev said.
He added that in addition to the forum, various cultural events will be held in several cities across Azerbaijan.
The forum series began with its inaugural event in October 2023 in Shusha, Azerbaijan—coinciding with the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. Co-organized by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Culture, TURKSOY, and the International Turkic Academy, it gathered over 200 participants from Turkic states to discuss language, literature, and heritage preservation.
