Turkic Union of Composers founded during inaugural Baku congress
Representatives of leading music organisations from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Hungary have announced the establishment of the Turkic Union of Composers (TUC) during the union’s inaugural congress in Baku.
The parties signed the Baku Declaration, laying the foundation for permanent professional cooperation among composers, musicologists, conservatories, music academies and creative unions across the Turkic countries.
The establishment of the TUC gives cooperation among composers from Turkic countries a unified institutional framework and a long-term international platform for the first time.
The creation of the union in Azerbaijan carries particular symbolic significance. The country has a rich musical heritage and is the birthplace of prominent composers including Uzeyir Hajibeyli, Gara Garayev and Fikret Amirov, whose works have made a lasting contribution to world culture.
