Official: Azerbaijan, UAE explore new areas of cultural cooperation
Culture plays a unique role in the development of relations between Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Culture Saadat Yusifova said, according to local media.
Yusifova made the remarks at an event titled UAE and Azerbaijan Museums Reflect a Story of Rich Past and Promising Future, organised jointly by the UAE Embassy in Baku and Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture.
She described culture as a universal language that brings nations closer, fosters mutual understanding of their history and traditions, and strengthens dialogue between different societies.
“For Azerbaijan, learning from international experience and conducting mutual exchanges is of particular importance. Expanding cooperation between Azerbaijani and UAE museums can allow both countries' cultural heritage to be presented to wider audiences,” Yusifova said.
The deputy minister also highlighted the potential for closer cooperation in cultural tourism. She said the development of cultural tourism routes and joint initiatives between Azerbaijan and the UAE could help people in both countries become more familiar with each other’s cultural heritage.
