Azerbaijan one of leading spiritual platforms, religious leader says
Azerbaijan, a land of brotherhood and human solidarity, serves as a centre of moderate values and a leading spiritual and humanitarian platform, which are among the most needed in the world, Sheikh ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, chairman of the Caucasus Muslims’ Board, has said.
Speaking at an event dedicated to Azerbaijani scholar Sheikh Seyid Yahya Bakuvi, held in Baku, he noted that in a modern world where factors threatening human civilisation, such as terrorism, separatism and radicalism, as well as manifestations of xenophobia and Islamophobia and cases of the misuse of religion, are on the rise, international events promoting religious and spiritual stability and inter-sectarian understanding through intra-Islamic dialogue are highly relevant and necessary, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The event, titled the First International Scientific and Practical Conference, was held as part of the seventh meeting of the Council of Heads of Muslim Religious Administrations of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS).
“We express our deep gratitude to all co-organisers for their valuable efforts in making this remarkable event possible,” Pashazade said.
