The DokuBaku International Documentary Film Festival has announced its official selection for this year’s edition, with 54 films from around the world set to be screened in Baku in October.
More than 260 submissions from over 88 countries were received for the festival, which will be held under the theme “Stellar Civilization,” Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Following a review by the selection committee, 54 documentaries were chosen for the official program, comprising 27 feature-length and 27 short films.
The lineup also includes five Azerbaijani documentaries highlighting the work and creative output of a new generation of local filmmakers.
Beyond film screenings, the seven-day festival will feature master classes, panel discussions and audience talks, bringing together more than 100 international and Azerbaijani film professionals.
The DokuBaku festival traditionally receives financial and media support from the Union of Cinematographers of Azerbaijan.
