Azerbaijan, Türkiye discuss new steps in trade partnership PHOTO
Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov has held a meeting with Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat.
The parties noted that fraternal and allied ties contribute to the development of economic cooperation and accelerate the implementation of joint projects, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijani Economy Ministry.
Türkiye is one of the main trade partners of Azerbaijan, the Preferential Trade Agreement between the countries and the Protocol on Amendments to this document give an additional impetus to strengthening trade and economic cooperation.
The brotherly states have been carrying out successful investment cooperation, trade turnover in the non-oil sector is growing. It was underlined that large-scale projects implemented with the participation of Azerbaijan and Türkiye contribute to the diversification of regional cooperation and change the situation in the region.
Jabbarov informed the Turkish side about the Azerbaijani economy, shared his vision of further strengthening economic ties with Türkiye.
For his part, Bolat stressed the friendly and fraternal relations, as well as the strategic partnership between the countries with common values, touched upon the strengthening of the dialogue between the business circles and stressed the importance of realizing the economic potential to the full.
The sides discussed initiatives to expand economic partnership and opportunities for cooperation in the spheres of transport, tourism, as well as within the system of modern standardisation and technical regulation.
At the meeting with Goksel Asan, Head of the Financial Office of the President of Türkiye, the importance of Azerbaijani-Turkish unity for economic partnership, promotion of mutual investments and opportunities for cooperation in the field of entrepreneurship support were discussed.
Successful development of trade and economic cooperation and global and regional projects implemented with the participation of both countries were noted. Cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, finance, insurance, transport and energy contributes to the diversification of the economies of Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
Joint activities and close cooperation of business circles will contribute to further deepening of relations and increasing trade turnover and investments.
