Russia becomes top importer of Azerbaijani non-oil products in first half of 2025
Russia has emerged as the leading importer of non-oil products from Azerbaijan during the first half of 2025, the latest Export Review by Azerbaijan’s Centre for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication confirmed.
Between January and June 2025, Azerbaijan exported non-oil goods worth $586 million to Russia—marking an 8.2% increase compared to the same period in 2024. This places Russia firmly in the top position among Azerbaijan’s non-oil trade partners, Caliber.Az reports.
Türkiye, traditionally one of Azerbaijan's strongest trading allies, ranked second with $287.2 million in imports of non-oil products. However, this figure reflects a 6.4% decline year-on-year.
Georgia secured third place with $154.8 million worth of imports—representing a substantial 36.1% increase, highlighting the growing economic ties between the two South Caucasus nations.
Switzerland and Ukraine followed in fourth and fifth positions, respectively. Azerbaijan’s non-oil exports to Switzerland more than doubled, reaching $151.5 million—a 2.5-fold increase, while exports to Ukraine rose 1.9 times, totalling $95.8 million for the reporting period.
The month of June 2025 alone saw notable export dynamics:
Russia imported $143.1 million in non-oil goods—a 24.8% increase compared to June 2024;
Türkiye imported $35.9 million, reflecting a 14.5% decrease;
Georgia received $29.3 million worth of goods, a 63.7% increase;
