Envoy Lu Mei urges China Southern Airlines to increase flights to Baku

China expects to further strengthen air connectivity with Azerbaijan while expanding bilateral economic and humanitarian cooperation, Chinese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lu Mei said.

Speaking at an event marking the 20th anniversary of the opening of China Southern Airlines’ Baku office, the diplomat said that over the past two decades, the airline’s convenient route network has helped bring a growing number of Chinese companies, investors and tourists to Azerbaijan. Their visits have supported efforts to explore the South Caucasus market and contributed to the development of local infrastructure, green energy and the digital economy, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

“At the same time, more and more Azerbaijani citizens are traveling to China on China Southern Airlines flights to explore the country's development opportunities, deepen bilateral trade and economic ties, and promote cultural exchanges. 

I hope that the China Southern Airlines Baku office will take this opportunity to continue tapping into the local market, optimize services on its routes, introduce innovative cooperation models, continuously increase flight frequency, improve the quality of air transportation, and create a safer, more efficient and convenient cross-border air corridor,” Lu Mei added.
