Baku airport says Grozny route will not reopen in late October

Direct flights between Grozny and Baku are not expected to resume from late October, according to officials at Heydar Aliyev International Airport.

The airport told Report news agency that the approved winter flight schedule does not include direct services on the Grozny-Baku route.

The statement comes after Grozny International Airport announced earlier that Russian carrier Utair would restart regular direct flights between Grozny and Baku from October 27.

No further details were provided regarding possible changes to the schedule or future plans for the route. The Grozny-Baku service had previously been suspended, and it remains absent from Baku airport’s confirmed winter timetable.
