11 September 2026 13:27
Kazakhstan increased its oil transit through the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline by 12% year-on-year in the first eight months of 2026, with volumes exceeding 1 million tons.
According to Kazakhstan’s national oil pipeline operator KazTransOil, the growth underscores the expanding role of the BTC route in the transit of Kazakh crude to international markets.
Meanwhile, shipments through the Batumi Oil Terminal, a KazTransOil subsidiary, also recorded growth during the reporting period.
From January through August 2026, the total volume of Kazakh oil, petroleum products and liquefied gas transited through Batumi reached 1.251 million tons, marking a 3% increase compared with the same period of 2025.
