Better business environment key to economic growth—Azerbaijani official

The development of entrepreneurship and the improvement of the business environment remain key priorities of Azerbaijan’s economic policy, First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev said.

Aliyev made the remarks at a meeting of the Coordination Group under the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA), Caliber.Az reports via local media.

He emphasized the importance of optimizing and digitalizing services in the field, as well as introducing innovative approaches. According to Aliyev, joint discussions and the development of a new mechanism involving institutions responsible for supporting entrepreneurship will contribute to the preparation of a more comprehensive final document.

The meeting, attended by representatives of relevant government agencies, focused on a new mechanism for the phased transfer to private-sector entities of services currently provided by state bodies to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, exporters, and investors.

The initiative is aimed at further improving the business environment and enhancing the efficiency of services provided to businesses and investors.
