Azerbaijan International Investment Forum to focus on new opportunities PHOTO
Azerbaijan will hold the 2nd International Investment Forum on 25–26 September, which is expected to create new opportunities for investors.
The forum will be held in Baku, the capital city, this year under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, Caliber.Az reports.
The event will be organised by the Ministry of Economy and its subordinate agency, the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), in strategic partnership with The European House – Ambrosetti.
This year’s forum, dedicated to the theme Restoring Trust in a Fragmented World: The South Caucasus as a Pillar of Global Connectivity and Investment Stability, will bring together leading global investors, government representatives, international financial institutions and business leaders.
Plenary and panel sessions will address strategic topics including the Middle Corridor, energy and the green transition, artificial intelligence and digital transformation, infrastructure, industry and free economic zones, critical raw materials, agribusiness, financial cooperation, small and medium-sized business development, tourism, real estate and investment in human capital.
New investment opportunities in Azerbaijan
The forum is particularly important as a platform for discussing the opportunities that Azerbaijan and the wider region offer investors. The country’s geographical location, connecting East and West and North and South, its developing transport and logistics infrastructure, energy projects, expanding industrial zones and the development of the non-oil sector are creating new areas for investment.
A Platform for new partnerships and joint projects
One of the forum’s main objectives is to identify new opportunities for cooperation, discuss joint projects and establish long-term investment partnerships. The participation of leading global investors, government representatives, international financial institutions and companies will provide a platform for direct dialogue and the exploration of new areas of cooperation.
Middle Corridor: Azerbaijan’s transit advantage
The development of the Middle Corridor, in which Azerbaijan occupies a strategic position, will be one of the areas of key importance to the global and regional economy discussed at the forum.
The route’s growing role in the international trading system is expanding Azerbaijan’s transit, logistics and regional trade opportunities. Amid the diversification of supply chains and growing interest in alternative logistics routes, Azerbaijan is strengthening its potential as one of the key transit and logistics hubs between Europe and Asia.

From energy security to the green transition
Energy security and the green transition will be among the forum’s main areas of discussion. Alongside traditional energy resources, growing investment in renewable energy projects demonstrates that Azerbaijan’s energy sector is entering a new stage of development.
Artificial Intelligence and digital transformation
The forum will also focus on artificial intelligence and digital transformation. Azerbaijan’s innovation ecosystem is expanding, while investment in new technologies is growing, playing an important role in shaping the country’s future economic development.
Industry and Free Economic Zones create new opportunities
The development of industrial zones will feature prominently on the forum’s agenda. The establishment of new industrial enterprises, expansion of production chains and manufacture of export-oriented products are among the key areas with significant potential.
By offering investors more accessible and flexible conditions for doing business, industrial zones are contributing to the development of regional manufacturing and logistics hubs.
Other strategic areas for discussion will include critical raw materials, agribusiness, financial cooperation, small and medium-sized business development, tourism and real estate.
Human Capital: A key area for future investment
Investment in human capital and innovation will also be a major focus, as these are among the key factors shaping future economic development. Amid rapid technological advances and changes in the labour market, developing a skilled workforce, strengthening professional skills and fostering links between businesses and educational institutions are becoming important components of long-term investment strategies.

Direct Dialogue with international investors
The 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum will also serve as an important platform for expanding Azerbaijan’s direct dialogue with international investors. Meetings and discussions held during the forum could create opportunities to showcase potential investment projects, establish new business ties and identify areas for cooperation across various sectors.
Baku becomes a strategic business platform for the region
Overall, the forum is important for presenting Azerbaijan as a strategic business platform connecting regions and international markets while creating conditions for new projects and partnerships.
Amid growing global economic and geopolitical uncertainty, discussions in Baku on investment stability, mutual trust and long-term partnerships make the forum even more relevant.
In this sense, the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum can be viewed not simply as a two-day international event, but also as an important strategic platform for discussing Azerbaijan’s future economic priorities, investment opportunities and the changing role of the region in the global economic system.
