Azerbaijan, Türkiye, TRNC stand firm on territorial rights, says FM
Azerbaijan, Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) must defend their rights to the last, regardless of the price they have to pay.
TRNC Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertugruoglu made the remarks at a meeting with a group of teenagers from the families of martyrs of the Second Karabakh War in Lefkosia on July 25, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijani media.
He added that these countries need to support each other, and defend common interests.
The minister stressed that the Turkic states have no claims against other countries.
"We do not need other people's lands, but we will not allow anyone to encroach on our territory. We will continue to support each other," the minister said.
The head of Northern Cyprus diplomacy then drew attention to the process of changing the world order and the crisis of the UN system.
“The world community is much larger than the five permanent members of the UN Security Council. This awareness is gradually coming. The power and influence of the mentioned five countries is declining,” Ertugruoglu said.
A group of teenagers from Azerbaijan aged 17 to 22, led by the head of the Public Association for Support of Martyrs’ Families “Zəfər” (Victory) Sevinc Orujova, are in the TRNC to participate in a summer camp organized by the American University in Girne.
