Azerbaijan, UAE keen to speed up green energy projects PHOTO
Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) want to accelerate the implementation of "green energy" projects with a capacity of 4 GW.
The issue was discussed at the meeting of Minister Parviz Shahbazov with CEO of Masdar Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi within the framework of the "Green Hydrogen Summit", Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy.
Before the meeting, the Azerbaijani minister inspected the company's stand. Shahbazov expressed satisfaction over the expansion of cooperation with Masdar on 230 MW solar power plant projects as well as 10 GW wind, solar energy and green hydrogen projects. The importance of accelerating the processes for the implementation of 4 GW green energy projects was noted.
The minister noted that European countries are planning to produce 20 million tonnes of hydrogen by 2030.
"Within Strategic Energy Partnership with the European Union, Azerbaijan is interested in exporting electricity, hydrogen to be produced from renewable energy sources. The timely implementation of projects with Masdar is important in this aspect,” he added.
For his part, Ramahi said that cooperation with Azerbaijan is a priority and expressed support for these mega-projects.
The meeting was also continued by a wide exchange of views on various areas of planned export routes as well as on issues related to the establishment of production facilities.
