Azerbaijan, UK discuss tax information exchange, strategic cooperation
The State Tax Service under the Azerbaijani Economy Ministry has announced that Azerbaijan and the UK discussed information exchange in the field of taxation.
Deputy Head of the State Tax Service Samira Musayeva held a video conference with HM Revenue and Customs ( HMRC ) Deputy Chief Executive Angela MacDonald, Caliber.Az reports, citing the State Tax Service.
The importance of the measures which are being implemented to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions and the proposed initiatives was emphasised during the meeting.
Strategic goals related to improving tax management, reforms for sustainable economic development, and other issues concerning the enhancement of the tax environment were also discussed.
Azerbaijan and Great Britain have been successfully cooperating in various sectors for many years. Modern trends and the gradual abandonment of carbon fuel by many countries open new prospects for Azerbaijan and Great Britain, especially in the field of clean energy, where Great Britain has extensive experience.
Both countries see significant potential for strengthening ties in such promising areas as clean technologies, decarbonisation, and offshore wind energy development.
