Belgium supplies generators to strengthen Kyiv heating photo
Belgium has delivered four power generators with a total capacity of 1.62 megawatts to Ukraine to support the capital’s heating system, strengthening Kyiv’s energy resilience amid continued attacks on critical infrastructure.
According to Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy, the equipment was provided by the Belgian development agency Enabel and transferred to the municipal utility Kyivteploenergo. The generators are expected to enhance the stability of heat supply services in Kyiv, particularly during periods of strain on the energy system.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Belgium has supplied Ukraine’s energy sector with more than 154 tonnes of humanitarian assistance.
Brussels has also contributed €2.5 million to the Energy Support Fund, financed the purchase of solar power stations for hospitals under the “Ray of Hope” initiative, and continues to assist with the repair of infrastructure and the delivery of equipment for thermal and cogeneration facilities through cooperation with Enabel.
