Germany begins mass production of drones for Ukraine
Serial production of more than 5,000 long-range combat drones for Ukraine has begun near Munich, according to the German newspaper Handelsblatt.
German-American defence company Auterion and its Ukrainian joint-venture partner Airlogix announced the production of the first drones.
The German government’s order is scheduled to be completed by mid-2027. According to industry sources, the contract is worth approximately €300 million. The drones are part of Germany’s support for Ukraine.
The joint venture, established only in February, expects further orders and a long-term contract. In addition to the undisclosed location near Munich, production is also planned at another facility in eastern Germany. The project involves two different models — one with medium range and another with a longer range of up to 1,500 kilometres.
