Biden continues to fight for presidency Bloomberg

US President Joe Biden said that he will continue to participate in the presidential race despite his unsuccessful performance at the debate.

"I understand the concern about the debate. I understand. I didn't have a very good evening," the president said at a campaign fundraising event, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media. 

The president said he would not have run for office "if he didn't believe he could win."

First Lady Jill Biden, speaking at a fundraiser in Greenwich Village, said she fully supports her husband.

"Look, Joe, we're not going to let 90 minutes define the four years you've been in office as president," the agency quotes Jill as saying to Biden after the debate.

The day before, Axios reported that Biden may leave the presidential race if such a decision is made by his close relatives and advisers.

According to sources, the situation could be influenced by the head of state's wife Jill, his younger sister Valerie Biden, family friend Ted Kaufman and a small group of White House advisers. This "kitchen cabinet" has existed for decades and "determines all decisions in Biden's life and presidency," the publication's interlocutors claim.
