Poland ramps up patrol deployment at border with Belarus

An additional 1,500 Polish Border Guard officers will be deployed to the border with Belarus, adding to the 3,500 already stationed there.

This was announced by Poland’s Minister of the Interior and Administration, Tomasz Siemoniak, Caliber.Az reports citing an official press statement.

He stated that the goal is to concentrate resources on securing Poland’s eastern border, and emphasised plans to equip officers with new tools to operate under difficult conditions, though he did not specify what equipment or weapons would be provided.

Currently, around 3,500 border officers, over 6,000 soldiers (excluding reserves), and 350 police officers are involved in guarding the Polish-Belarusian border.
