Caucasian Muslims Office: Int'l community must avoid national, racial, religious intolerance
Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade has said that the international community must say "no" to intolerance on national, racial and religious grounds.
Pashazade made the remarks at the ninth Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilisations (UNAOC) in Fes, Morocco, Report informs.
The chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office noted that the challenges of modernity pose important tasks for humanity.
“Unfortunately, the number of ideological and practical challenges that impede global stability and security is growing on a global scale. This testifies to xenophobia, religious and ethnic intolerance,” he added.
The chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office said that presently, incitement to hatred, inciting aggression, violence and discrimination among people and turning into a political and social threat that destabilises life in different countries through modern technologies can lead to wars, crimes, and genocide.
“The proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and the intensification of military rhetoric increase the threat of using nuclear weapons. The attempts of pushing civilisations together can cause a great catastrophe in the world,” he added.
