Azerbaijan's Gazakh district to see new border posts as restoration works begin
In the coming year, new border posts will be constructed in the four villages of Gazakh District, which were liberated from Armenian occupation, as announced by Deputy Chief of the SBS, Lieutenant General Araz Mammadov.
According to Mammadov, a temporary border post is currently operational in the village of Kheyrimli, Caliber.Az reports.
He added that restoration works will begin next year in the villages of Baganis Ayrim, Ashagi Askipara, Kheyrimli, and Gizilhadzhili villages in the Gazakh District. During this period, new border posts will also be established in these areas.
According to Mammadov, following the liberation of Zangilan, Gubadli, and Lachin regions in Karabakh, Azerbaijan's State Border Service (SBS) has resumed operations, strengthening border security.
The deployment includes the 1st Separate Border Division, three military units, 11 border outposts, three detachments, and 121 combat posts.
General Mammadov acknowledged the sacrifices made during the 44-day Patriotic War, with 10 border troops martyred in the line of duty.
He also revealed that 1,843 soldiers were decorated for their bravery, with 719 receiving state orders and medals from the President.
