China lashes out at NATO's expansion into Asia, citing global security threats
NATO’s plans to expand into Asia are posing a threat to global and regional stability, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Lin Jian has said.
"NATO's so-called security is ensured at the expense of other countries' security. The alliance's actions pose extremely high risks to security in the world and the region," Lin Jian said, as reported by Caliber.Az.
"As a relic of the Cold War and the world's largest military bloc, NATO claims to be a regional defense organization, but at the same time, it constantly oversteps its boundaries and expands its powers, provoking confrontation."
Lin Jian emphasized that China firmly rejects NATO's accusations against the People's Republic of China (PRC). He also stated that China opposes using China as a pretext to expand NATO's influence in the Asia-Pacific region, further aggravating the situation.
