Hezbollah chief denounces Israeli attacks As warplane sonic booms rattle Beirut
Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah condemned recent Israeli attacks that targeted the group's communications, which resulted in 37 fatalities and around 3,000 injuries, overwhelming Lebanese hospitals.
Deadly Israeli attacks that blew up Hezbollah radios and pagers crossed all red lines, Nasrallah said, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
He described these strikes as a severe and unprecedented blow to both Hezbollah and Lebanon, claiming they crossed all moral and legal boundaries and could be classified as war crimes.
As he spoke in a televised address against a stark red backdrop, Israeli warplanes produced sonic booms over Beirut, escalating tensions in the region. While Israel has not confirmed its involvement, security sources suggest the attacks were likely orchestrated by the Mossad. Nasrallah argued that the attacks aimed to kill up to 5,000 people but insisted that Hezbollah’s structure remained intact despite suffering significant damage.
He expressed a desire for Israeli troops to enter southern Lebanon, viewing it as a potential strategic opportunity for Hezbollah.
Meanwhile, Iranian Revolutionary Guards Commander Hossein Salami warned that Israel would face a "crushing response" from the "axis of resistance." The ongoing conflict has instilled fear among Lebanese civilians, leading many to abandon their electronic devices due to concerns of hidden explosives.
