Colombian newspaper spotlights Azerbaijan’s green economy efforts ahead of COP29 PHOTO
The popular Colombian newspaper “Primacia” has published an article titled “COP29: For the Existence of Our Planet”.
The article emphasizes the importance of COP29 in addressing the impacts of climate change and highlights Azerbaijan's role as a significant international actor in this area, the Azerbaijan embassy in Mexico told Azertag.
Although Azerbaijan is known as an exporter of oil and gas, the country has successfully developed a green economy policy in recent years. COP29 will be a valuable opportunity for Azerbaijan to share its achievements in renewable energy, CO₂ emissions reduction, and environmental protection with the global community, the article notes.
“Primacia” writes that under the leadership of one of the world's most successful leaders, President Ilham Aliyev, hosting prestigious international events in Azerbaijan has become commonplace. The publication underscores that COP29 will discuss issues of critical importance to humanity's future.
The piece also notes that the Colombian government places serious importance on climate change and environmental issues and will work alongside other countries at COP29 to address challenges threatening the entire world.
The article by Colombian journalist Roberto Trobajo was also published in several other local media outlets.
