Russia extradites five wanted individuals to Azerbaijan
Five individuals, internationally wanted for various crimes, have been extradited to Azerbaijan from Russia.
This information was confirmed by the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office, Caliber.Az reports.
In accordance with the Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family, and Criminal Cases, dated October 7, 2002, the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation fulfilled the extradition requests for Azerbaijani citizens Edilov Gadim Adil oglu, Israfilov Ilgar Etibar oglu, Garibov Namig Agakhan oglu, Huseynov Mahir Zahir oglu, and Abbasov Vahid Edilman oglu.
Reasonable suspicions had been established that these individuals had committed offences under relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Consequently, decisions were made to charge them, and they were placed on an international wanted list for evading investigation.
The individuals were detained in Russia and transported to Azerbaijan under special escort by the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice.
