Azerbaijan to hold conference on missing persons and confidence-building
Azerbaijan will host an international conference in October to discuss confidence-building and mechanisms for finding missing persons.
The fourth International Conference on “Building Confidence, Developing Effective Mechanisms and Solutions on the Issue of Missing Persons” will take place from October 7 to 10 as part of the Baku Dialogue on Missing Persons, Caliber.Az reports.
The State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons said one of the main topics would be strengthening trust between the parties.
“Real progress in determining the fate of missing persons is impossible without cooperation and transparency,” the commission said.
It added that discussions would focus on providing comprehensive information about missing persons, including the locations of burial sites, as well as opportunities for joint humanitarian efforts to search for, locate and identify those who remain missing.
