Azerbaijani businessman says F1 could move to Sea Breeze resort

The Formula 1 race in Azerbaijan could theoretically be moved from central Baku to Sea Breeze if the necessary track and infrastructure are built by 2030–2031, Emin Agalarov, owner of Sea Breeze and president of Agalarov Development, has said.

He outlined that the construction of a Formula 1 circuit at Sea Breeze has been under discussion for some time, and “such a project requires serious preparation and large-scale work,” Caliber.Az reports.

Agalarov noted that Sea Breeze was in contact with Tilke, a company specialising in the design of Formula 1 circuits.

“If we manage to build the circuit and the necessary infrastructure around it by 2030–2031, then, theoretically, Formula 1 races could be moved to Sea Breeze.

“There are no firm agreements on this issue yet. However, we have a dream. Everything we have dreamed of has come true. Therefore, Formula 1 at Sea Breeze is already within reach,” Agalarov added, presenting a video visualisation of what Sea Breeze could look like during race days.
