Azerbaijan, FAO discuss prospects for further cooperation PHOTO

Azerbaijan and the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) have discussed prospects for expanding their cooperation.

During the talks, the sides – Azerbaijani Agriculture Minister Majnun Mammadov and FAO Assistant Director-General Viorel Gutu – focused on the sustainable development of Azerbaijan’s agricultural sector, strengthening food security, Caliber.Az reports, citing the ministry.

The ministry noted that the parties also exchanged views on introducing new support mechanisms for agricultural producers, and implementing measures under the 2026–2030 State Program for the Development of Agricultural Production and Processing, Fisheries and Aquaculture.

They also highlighted the importance of projects carried out in cooperation with FAO.

Officials stressed the need to continue collaboration under the FAO–Azerbaijan Partnership Programme (FATP), noting that ongoing projects would contribute significantly to the development of the country’s agricultural sector.
