SOCAR employees honour national leaders, martyrs on Oil Workers’ Day PHOTO

SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf and employees of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan visited the Alley of Honour and the Alley of Martyrs in Baku on the occasion of Oil Workers’ Day.

The SOCAR delegation first visited the Alley of Honour, where they paid tribute to National Leader Heydar Aliyev, founder of the modern Azerbaijani state and author of the country’s new energy strategy, and laid a wreath at his monument, Caliber.Az reports per SOCAR. 

The delegation also honoured the memory of prominent ophthalmologist and scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva, by laying flowers at her grave.

SOCAR employees then visited the Alley of Martyrs, where they laid flowers at the graves of those who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and placed a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument.
