Azerbaijan, UNOPS set sights on expanded healthcare partnership
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Health Teymur Musayev has met with Simonetta Siligato Director of Austria Multi-Country Office at the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) to discuss prospects for expanding cooperation in healthcare.
The meeting reviewed the current state of the parties’ long-standing cooperation, achievements to date, prospects for joint projects, and new opportunities for further collaboration, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Ministry of Health.
Cooperation between the Ministry of Health and UNOPS has been ongoing since 2005. Over the years, the parties have jointly implemented a number of projects covering various areas of the healthcare sector.
Musayev emphasized that Azerbaijan attaches particular importance to cooperation with international partners in healthcare. He highlighted the importance of drawing on international experience to develop the country’s healthcare system, introduce modern medical technologies and solutions, improve infrastructure, and further enhance the quality of medical services.
The sides also exchanged views on expanding existing areas of cooperation between UNOPS and Azerbaijan, implementing new healthcare projects, and other issues of mutual interest.
UNOPS Partnership Advisor Konstantin Egorov and UNOPS Partnership Coordinator in Azerbaijan Dinara Guliyeva also attended the meeting.
