Turkish VP: Azerbaijan has strong diaspora

Azerbaijan and Türkiye are among the major forces within the diaspora communities of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz said.

Speaking to Report on the sidelines of the first Forum of the Muslim Diaspora of OIC Member States in Ankara, Yılmaz praised the activities of the Azerbaijani diaspora and the Azerbaijani delegation participating in the forum.

“We know that Azerbaijan has a strong diaspora. The diaspora of Türkiye, like those of many other brotherly countries, is also active,” Yılmaz said.

He noted that individual diaspora communities already have significant influence but argued that closer coordination among them could produce greater results.

“Each of them, individually, is a great power. However, by uniting, we can achieve greater influence and stronger results,” Yılmaz emphasised.
