Conflict gone - Azerbaijan wants peace, good neighbourliness
“Each nation has a place that has left a special imprint in the soul, and for Azerbaijanis it is Shusha.”
The remarks came from Azerbaijan’s Culture Minister, Anar Kerimov, who said Shusha was home to dozens of prominent cultural figures of Azerbaijan and Mugham singers, according to Report.
The minister said the 30-year occupation by Armenia of the territories of Azerbaijan, including the city of Shusha, has led to large-scale destruction, including of cultural heritage monuments.
“But today the conflict is in the past, Azerbaijan is determined to establish peace and good neighbourliness,” he noted.
The minister recalled that Shusha was also elected the cultural capital of the Turkic world for 2023, and the celebration of this event will take place next year.
He also added that many organizations have joined the Baku process, which actively promotes the development of peace and culture.
