Czech Republic to transfer two anti-aircraft missile systems "Kub" to Ukraine
The Czech Republic will transfer two anti-aircraft missile systems "Kub" and the necessary missiles to Ukraine.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the statement of Czech President Petr Pavel, published in České noviny.
He noted that two Kub air defence systems with a relatively large number of missiles are now under delivery, which Ukraine can use immediately because it has fighters trained for this type of equipment.
Pavel added that Ukraine has already received about 100 tanks, the same number of armoured vehicles and plenty of ammunition from the Czech Republic. Also decisive for Ukraine is the provision of enough armoured vehicles and ammunition. According to Pavel, the Czech Republic can also provide ammunition not only from its own resources but also from the warehouses of third countries.
"This is what Ukraine lacks because the decisive part of the battle will have to take place on the ground," the Czech president said.
The Soviet Kub system, nicknamed "the three fingers of death" for its appearance, is used for targeting aircraft or helicopters. It will be replaced by Israeli-made SPYDER missile systems in the Czech army's arsenal.
In March, Slovakia decided to transfer the Kub missile defence system to Ukraine.
