EU ambassador praises Georgia’s efforts towards European integration
EU ambassador to Georgia Pawel Herczynski has said that Tbilisi has “done a lot” to join the political union, noting that the country’s government responded quickly and sent an action plan on priorities for integration to Brussels.
“I hope that 27 EU countries will make a positive decision [on Georgia’s membership]. A lot has been done during this period. There have been many initiatives recently. You know that reforms are required, both at this stage and at the next stage, for progress, for joining the EU. I am glad that the Georgian government reacted quickly and sent an action plan on nine priorities to Brussels,” he noted, Imedi TV channel reports.
He emphasised that it is very important for the EU to support the Georgian people on the path of integration.
