First batch of Kazakh oil to be sent to Germany on February 22

Kazakhstan plans to send the first batch of oil to Germany on February 22.

The statement came from Kazakh Energy Minister Bolat Akchulakov, Kommersant reports.

"I think they will finish (the necessary procedures) today and there may be a shipment today [February 22]," Akchulakov told reporters.

The KazTransOil company said that in February they intend to transport 20,000 tons of Kazakh oil through the Druzhba oil pipeline to Germany. The exact delivery dates were not specified there.

On January 29, Transneft received an application from Kazakhstan for pumping oil to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline. It included the reservation of additional pipeline capacities in the amount of 1.2 million tons for 2023. Reuters reported that Kazakhstan will send 100,000 tons of oil to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline in March.
