Former Israeli PM slams increase in fuel supplies to Gaza Strip
Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has criticized the increase in fuel supplies to the Gaza Strip to prevent a humanitarian crisis and outbreaks of epidemics.
On his X page in the social network X (formerly Twitter), he called this development a "serious mistake", Caliber.Az reports.
He said that supplying fuel to Gaza during the fighting is "an injection of energy for Hamas" and a serious mistake. Bennett recalled that the fuel deliveries come amid the holding of hostages "in inhumane conditions."
"Fuel is oxygen - literally - for Hamas. Without it, Hamas will collapse. Hamas uses fuel for ventilation and lighting systems in the tunnels and terrorist activities against us," Bennett wrote.
Before that, the Axios portal, citing an unnamed official, reported that the Israeli government intends to double the amount of fuel entering the Gaza Strip.
As the source noted, the importance of this decision was announced by the country's Minister of Strategic Planning Ron Dermer.
During the cabinet meeting, he pointed out that this step is necessary to continue the US military support for Israel.
