Georgian MFA confronts Lithuanian ambassador over alleged interference
The Georgian Foreign Ministry summoned the Lithuanian Ambassador to Tbilisi, Andrius Kalindra, accusing Vilnius of interfering in Georgia's internal affairs through recent statements and actions.
Caliber.Az reports citing the press service of the Georgian Foreign Ministry that the Georgian side expressed concerns about remarks made by Lithuanian officials and the participation of Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis in a protest action in Tbilisi. They also pointed to the summoning of the Georgian ambassador to the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry regarding the recently adopted law on transparency.
The Georgian Foreign Ministry emphasized that such actions constitute gross interference in the country's internal affairs and are inconsistent with the traditionally friendly and partnership relations between the two states.
