Armenia’s new ambassador to Russia aims to strengthen bilateral relations
Armenia's newly appointed ambassador to Russia, Gurgen Arsenyan, has expressed his commitment to improving relations between Moscow and Yerevan.
Speaking during a meeting with Grigory Karasin, Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs, Arsenyan emphasized the need to restore diplomatic ties to a level that would be satisfactory for both nations, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
In his remarks, Arsenyan acknowledged the current turbulent climate and voiced his determination to foster stronger Armenian-Russian relations. He pointed out Armenia’s status as a treaty ally of Russia and its participation in an economic union, expressing confusion over the negative portrayal of these ties in the media.
"We must act in a way that ensures our peoples live in peace, security, and prosperity," he stated, underscoring the responsibility of both nations to cultivate a positive and cooperative relationship.
