Turkish forces take down over 2,100 terrorists since early 2024
Since January 1, 2024, the Turkish military has successfully neutralised a total of 2,107 terrorists in the region, said the Turkish Defence Ministry spokesperson Zeki Akturk.
Akturk revealed that in the last two weeks alone, Turkish forces have neutralised 58 terrorists, primarily in Iraq and northern Syria, Caliber.Az reports.
This recent activity contributes to the ongoing efforts of the Turkish military to combat terrorism in the region.

Notably, since 2016, Türkiye has conducted three major operations to eliminate terrorist threats along its southern borders and to protect local communities. These operations — Euphrates Shield (2016), Olive Branch (2018), and Peace Spring (2019) — were undertaken by the Turkish Armed Forces in northern Syria.
The PKK, which is accountable for the deaths of over 40,000 people, including women and children, has been classified as a terrorist organisation by both the United States and the European Union.
