Turkish president to attend BRICS summit in Kazan
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has officially confirmed his attendance at the upcoming BRICS summit, set to take place in Kazan.
This announcement was made by Sergey Ryabkov, Russia's BRICS Sherpa and Deputy Foreign Minister, during a press conference focused on the preparations for the 16th BRICS summit, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
“President Erdogan has confirmed his participation in the outreach/BRICS plus session of the summit,” Ryabkov stated.
The involvement of Türkiye in this international gathering underscores the growing significance of the BRICS bloc, which includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, as well as invited partner nations.
The summit aims to foster dialogue and cooperation among member states, addressing key global challenges and enhancing economic collaboration.
BRICS is an intergovernmental organization comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, and the United Arab Emirates. The group's goal is to promote peace, security, and development, as well as to enhance economic growth through mutual cooperation. It seeks to provide an alternative to the global influence of Western powers.
