Georgia, Türkiye team up in major hunt for wanted suspects VIDEO
Georgia and Türkiye have carried out a large-scale joint law enforcement operation targeting Turkish nationals wanted by authorities in Türkiye, Georgia’s Interior Ministry said.
The operation was conducted by Georgian Interior Ministry officers in cooperation with their Turkish counterparts, with several Turkish citizens wanted in connection with various crimes identified and detained in Georgia.
According to the ministry, the suspects were wanted by Turkish law enforcement agencies for offenses ranging from grave to particularly grave crimes. Some of those detained were also found to have been staying in Georgia in violation of visa requirements.
The Georgian Interior Ministry said the operation was preceded by extensive joint operational and investigative work between the two countries’ law enforcement agencies.
The ministry added that Georgia will continue active cooperation with international partners to identify and apprehend individuals wanted by law enforcement authorities.
