Ankara looks to deepen business ties with Damascus

Turkish Trade Minister Ömer Bolat has met Ahmed Ramadan, head of the Syrian Investment Agency, in Damascus to discuss trade and investment opportunities between the two countries.

The Turkish trade delegation included representatives of around 40 companies and approximately 200 participants, Bolat said in a post on X.

The sides discussed new areas of cooperation and prospects for joint projects, with particular attention given to Turkish business investment in Syria, improving the investment climate and creating conditions for long-term investment in production and employment.

Bolat said Ankara was interested in developing mutual investment, joint production, the exchange of technology and expertise, and helping companies from the two countries enter third-country markets.
