Pashinyan engages with French leaders Amid peace talks with Azerbaijan
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is on a working visit to France from October 3 to 5, where he has met with French Prime Minister Michel Barnier and President Emmanuel Macron.
During his time in Paris, Pashinyan participated in discussions on a range of critical issues, including Armenia's ongoing peace negotiations with Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports per Armenian media.
In a video shared on his Facebook page, Pashinyan highlighted the significance of these meetings, noting that he is prepared to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan, building on 80 per cent of the agreed-upon points in the document. He expressed optimism that finalizing the treaty would pave the way for lasting peace and stability in the region.
Meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace, Pashinyan emphasized the importance of advancing discussions on remaining points of contention while also addressing broader regional initiatives. He introduced the Armenian government's “Crossroads of Peace” project, which aims to unblock regional communications while respecting principles of sovereignty and reciprocity.
President Macron responded positively, expressing support for Armenia's efforts towards peace and stability, and commended the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative.
